A romantic comedy about a New York socialite who fakes her identity to get her book published and has to rush back to her deceased mother's farm when the publisher and her son come to visit their 'Australian' author.

This movie doesn't have the same feel as most Christmas movies, but that is largely because it is set in Australia. Really hard to have a spontaneous snowball fight in the middle of summer after all. It also doesn't really focus a lot of Christmas itself because this is a working holiday for pretty much everyone involved. There is a slight twist reveal at the end that tells us why it's a working holiday though.

In spite of the non-traditional feel of this movie, I really enjoyed it as a rom-com, and I'm still trying to pretend that I only like those when they're Christmas themed, so this is a Christmas movie. Instead of the spontaneous snowball fight, we get late night swimming in their underwear/pajamas. Instead of baking Christmas cookies, they deliver a calf together. Instead of a sleigh-ride to profess his love, she chases him down in the bed of a farm truck to do the same. See, it's totally a Christmas movie.

Fine, I'll be honest. If you're looking for the cheese of a traditional Christmas movie, skip this one. But if you want a funny comedy that is set during Christmas, you should go ahead and give this one a go.
