I’ve never been able to say no to my manager, which is probably why my band instated the No Bang Oath. When she asks me to star on a new reality dating show right before we go on tour, the last thing I want to find is love. But since it was Kylie who asked, I say yes. Besides, I can’t turn down the exposure for my band.
As I forge connections with the women—including the show’s hostess—I can’t seem to shake Kylie out of my head. When I find myself at the center of a scandal, I don’t know what’s worse: the bad press or the disappointment in Kylie’s eyes.
How do I prove I’m not just another rock star before I hit the road with one of the biggest bands in the world?

I was hired to proofread this book. The only aspects of the story that I influenced were the spelling and grammar. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.
I am a bit of a reality tv addict at times, and really got into it with Bret Michael's Rock of Love and Rock of Love 2, so a book about a rock star going on a dating show was definitely right up my alley. Even though the basis for the dating show in NJARSR wasn't an ability to live the rock star lifestyle exactly, I feel like it influenced my opinions of the girls and their suitability for Dax.
There were some aspects of this story that surprised me because I expected them to go differently for the ratings based on my experience watching reality tv and the way things typically go with dating shows. I did like the twist to the dating show from what I'm used to seeing though. It added an extra element of suspense for me.
But the real story here happens off camera. There is a lot of tension between Dax and his bandmates, and Dax and their manager, and basically Dax and everyone, really. Things are changing fast, and not everyone is ready for it, and the tension and hesitance really comes through. I couldn't help but cheer for certain outcomes to things though.
Overall I give Not Just Another Rock Star Romance 4.876 stars. - Katie
