I was hired to proofread this book. The only aspects of the story that I influenced were the spelling and grammar. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.
It occurs to me that I am reviewing this series out of order because I'd found myself far too busy with proofreading to keep up with review writing when I worked on this book (at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it). This creates a few problems for me. While I have a pretty good memory for the written word, separating specific books in a series from one another when there's a story arc for the whole series starts to become a bit difficult. It feels a bit like trying to remember specific dates for events in history as opposed to remembering them as a sequence of events. I can remember the sequence, but the specifics about which book they occur in are a little fuzzy. This is my roundabout way of saying that this review is going to be somewhat vague, but as it's the fourth book in the series, and I really wouldn't recommend starting on the fourth book of this series, I don't feel too bad about that.
It's become pretty clear that there is a conspiracy afoot, and the puzzle pieces are starting to fall into place. Of course it turns out that some of the puzzle pieces have been missing for years and finding them may be more difficult than anticipated. Adelina is really growing into her own, becoming more dominant and maybe a bit manipulative, although she seems to have the bests interests of her people at heart, even though her manipulations, so it doesn't seem like a negative thing.
Overall I give Heir of Draga 4.8278 stars. - Katie
