Review

I was hired to provide post publication proofreading for this book. Because Ms. Theriot has hired me in the past, she probably suspected that a review would be posted (I know she has read previous reviews of mine), but it was not part of our agreement. I just prefer to review every book I read and reading is very much an integral part of proofreading. If you feel my connection with the book makes my review suspect, so be it, but this is my honest review.

This is book 3 in the Where Darkness Reigns series and the only one I had left to read. Like I said in my last review, you don't have to read this series in order, but I would still highly recommend it.

Because I read the series out of order, this book was the culmination of it for me. It tied up all the loose ends from the other books in the series and overall left me feeling very satisfied with the story progression.

Like most of Ms. Theriot's books that I have read up to this point, Seduced by Voodoo is like reading two stories woven together to make one whole book. Because I'd read the series out of order, I had a pretty good idea of how the two stories were connected anyway, but the journey to that truth was still very enjoyable for me.

Overall I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it had me hooked like a fish and satisfied my lingering curiosity. - Katie

About the Author

A Louisiana native and have had the wonderful opportunity of living in various states during my husband's 20-year career in the United States Coast Guard.

I have been happily married for over twenty years and am the proud mother of two wonderful children. My youngest encouraged me to begin writing this year.

Until my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2001, I worked in the Legal Field. Writing is great therapy for my own personal fight against MS.

I truly hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

Challenges

I used Seduced by Voodoo to fulfill one of my missing TBR Pile books. Even though my proofreading books tend to be somewhat last minute reads, I've missed counting several books from my actual TBR pile, and after the first job I completed for Ms. Theriot, she made it fairly obvious that she intended to have me proofread several other books from her back catalog as well, so I feel it still counts.

For the Popsugar reading challenge, I used Seduced by Voodoo to fulfill the Book Set Somewhere I've Always Wanted to Visit category. I have always wanted to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, so it definitely counts.

Other categories it could fulfill for Popsugar include
A book with nonhuman characters (vampires, werewolves)
A book by a female author
A book from an author I love that I hadn't read yet (I do mostly enjoy Ms. Theriot's writing.)
A book with magic
