I received a copy of this through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This was a really informative story about the celebration of Diwali. I'm not very familiar with Diwali myself, so I learned quite a bit from this short story, and the language was simple and very easy to understand, so children should have no problem with it either. This would definitely be a good book to read to your littles to broaden their horizons about the celebrations of others who are different from them.

The illustrations were very bright and colorful using bold strokes and lines. Overall I give Diwali 4.3967 out of 5 stars. - Katie

Sital Gorasia Chapman writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry for children. She has always loved books! As a child, Sital read as much as possible. The library was her favorite place to visit. When she wasn’t reading, she was writing, doodling, or daydreaming about stories.

Darshika Varma completed a BFA in Applied Arts at Rachana Sansad in Mumbai. Her career started off as a designer in digital marketing, from where she moved on to designing wedding invitations and eventually found her true calling as a children's illustrator. Darshika is usually found curled up in a corner poring over a book, sniffing in the scent of inked pages, drawing inspiration from the fantasy world, and bringing those vivid imaginations to life through her illustrations.
