An old man was feeling lonely, so he decided to get a cat. He looked online for a cat and found one person who was selling 4 kittens. But when he got to the person's house, they only had two little black kittens left. After watching the kittens chase each other and play together in the garage, it seemed cruel to break up the brother and sister kittens, so he bought them both. Little did the old man know how much mischief these two kittens could get into. Because they got in trouble so much, the owner name the two kittens Bonnie and Clyde after the famous bank robbers. But the two kittens could be warm and cuddly at other times and they would mew and purr every time they would sit on his lap. The old man quickly learned to love them both and fed them and gave them water and changed their litter regularly. He also would pet them gently when they sat on his easy chair while he watched TV. They learned to jump up on the cabinets and climbed the Christmas tree and generally made a mess of everything. But the old man was very patient and cleaned up after the kittens and gave them kitty treats. This little book is only 24 pages, so it is a perfect length for a bedtime story for small children, and it is colorfully illustrated to capture their attention.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a very short story about a man who gets a couple of all black kittens. It goes into detail about all the things he needs to take care of his kittens, and the way the kittens behave. It seems like a decent story to teach kids about what is involved in raising kittens, but it does give some mixed messages, which isn't great.
The illustrations were fairly simple, but very colorful and eye catching. They'll definitely get kids attention. Overall I give Two Little Black Kittens 3.4986 out of 5 stars. - Katie
