I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a story about a penguin who acts very much like a young child. You see, he has a favorite toy that goes everywhere with him. Sound familiar? Then one day he loses his toy. The next day he looks everywhere for the toy but just can't find it anywhere that he looks. But then he lays down in the snow and finds where his toy has been all along.
I liked the messaging in this book, that you shouldn't give up on your goals, and that sometimes things will be in the last place you think to look, or even possibly in a place it never even occurred to you to look. I think those can be very good lessons for young children, especially children with very strong attachments to certain objects that they're not always good about keeping track of. The illustrations were colorful and whimsical.
Overall I give Have you Seen Mikki Olsen 3.9747 out of 5 stars. - Katie
