Synopsis
In pursuit of a fairytale romance with the man of her dreams, Layla must race through New York City to get her hands on the hottest ticket in town: the sold out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert.
Review
Layla is traveling near Christmas one year, when she meets two different men in the airport lounge. One of them, puts the moves on her, but she's got a boyfriend. They really hit it off though, so she tells him that if she is single next Christmas, she will meet him at the Pentatonix concert, which she goes to every year. Wouldn't you know it, just a couple days before Christmas the following year, she catches her boyfriend cheating on her, but she doesn't have a ticket to Pentatonix. Cue the scramble. Her friend suggests she hire a personal concierge because they're supposed to be able to get anything. Enter Teddy, who will do everything in his power to get her that ticket. Including DM'ing Pentatonix all throughout their trials.
So is it a Christmas movie? The facts: the movie includes shopping for a much sought after item that is given up just as it's in their reach for someone more deserving, a lip-syncing competition with drag queens, and a carriage ride through snowy New York. Oh, and obviously a Pentatonix concert with a Santa clad declaration from the man she's supposed to be with. I gotta' say, this does not qualify as a Christmas movie. It was a great ride, trying to get those concert tickets, and feeling the love blooming between Layla and her new man was exactly the cheese I want in a Christmas movie. But there just wasn't the holiday magic. This story could just as easily have taken place in July. But definitely watch it.
