He’s devoted to his family, but emotionally detached from the women he burns through like wildfire. He has no plans of getting into something as complicated and committed as a “relationship”.
Nicholas Morgan has placed the new librarian, Miss Elizabeth, on a pedestal and is begging her to meet his twin brother, Nathaniel. Elizabeth and Nathaniel agree to meet, for Nicky. Both are caught off-guard when unexpected sparks fly between them. This was not in their plans. Will Nathaniel and Elizabeth be able to escape a past that still plagues them? Or, will the past, suspicions, and insecurities come between them one too many times?
**This is a contemporary new adult romance. It should only be read by ages 18+ due to adult themes and situations. This book is a stand-alone but should be read before book 2 in the series.
Review
This is A.D Ellis debut novel. I did enjoy the story, but I didn't fall madly in love with it.
The whole book was very emotional. One minute I was crying and feeling like my heart had been pulled out, the next I was laughing and very happy. I felt completely drained after finishing the story.
Elizabeth is a shy, timed girl who has lived her whole life in the shadow of her sister, she's not had a great childhood with her mother dying when she was young and then her dad suffering from depression. Elizabeth has been bullied at school for years and has retreated in to herself completely. The only time Elizabeth is true happy is when she is surrounded by books losing herself.
Nate Morgan was born a few minutes before his twin Nicky. Due to complications Nicky was born with special needs. Nate has always been protective of Nicky because of his special needs. He just wants his brother to be happy and have a good life.
Nicky meets Elizabeth in the school library she works at. They instantly form a solid friendship. Nicky thinks immediately that Elizabeth would be the perfect girl to make Nate happy. When they do finally meet there is a connection, but unfortunately not everything is smooth sailing for them, there's a lot of things standing in their way.
The book covered so many issues that the reader can instantly relate to....bullying, special needs, addiction, intervention, hope, love and friendship. I loved that I could relate to so many things in this book. Having suffered severe depression, lose, bullying and having family with special needs, the book bought back a lot of memories and in places I found parts very hard to read because of my own past.
This story will really open your eyes to the works around you and things you know that happens to others daily, but are ignorant to.
The whole story was truly beautiful and very well written.

You met Audrey Decker through Nate and Libby’s story in For Nicky, A Torey Hope Novel Book 1. This is Audrey’s story. It is highly suggested that you read For Nicky before reading Because of Beckett so that you can be emotionally vested in Audrey’s story.
Audrey Decker is a mean girl, a bitch, a bully. She has no plans to stop treating people badly and she’s definitely not going to stop using sex as power. But when she ends up in therapy against her wishes, an ugly and painful repressed past is uncovered and Audrey’s world is tipped on its axis. Everything she thought she knew, everything she thought she was, is all changing.
Jeremiah Jordan returns from serving two years overseas with a detached and hardened heart. When his world is rocked with unexpected news and difficult challenges, Jeremiah faces them head on. He’s comfortable with where he is right now; he has his parents close by and his son is his world. He definitely doesn’t have time for the hassle that has always accompanied dating in the past. He doesn’t have it in him to put effort into forming relationships that may just hurt him or his son again.
A chance encounter, second chances, and a little boy who believes in learning from mistakes is all it takes to bring Audrey and Jeremiah together. However, deserving a second chance and taking that second chance are two very different things. Learning from mistakes and letting go of the past may be easier said than done. Can Audrey and Jeremiah push through the pasts that are haunting both of them or will their romance wither and die under the weight of it all?
Because of Beckett is a story of love, forgiveness, and second chances.
**Because of Beckett is recommended only for ages 18+ due to harsh language, adult situations, and mature themes. Certain pivotal points of Audrey’s history may trigger unpleasant memories for some readers.**

Author Bio
A.D Ellis was born and raised in a small farming town in southern Indiana. An avid reader from the time she learned to read, A.D. could often be found curled up somewhere with her nose in a book. Most of her friends and family were not such book enthusiasts, so A.D. got used to dealing with snickers and joking comments about her constant reading habits.
A.D. had always dreamed of being a teacher. She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University in 1999 and her Master’s Degree from Indiana Wesleyan in 2003. A.D. has been teaching in the inner city of Indianapolis for 15 years. While she’s taught several different grades, fourth grade is where she’s spent the most time; a move to third grade alternative education is on the horizon though. A.D. loves teaching fractions, variables, probability, and graphing in Math. She loves almost all aspects of English Language Arts. Figurative language, theme, making predictions, drawing conclusions, inference, context clues, making writing come to life, A.D. loves it all! Her students may not be as on board with that excitement.
A.D. met her husband in college in 1996 and they married in June of 2000. She lives in a southside suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband and two school-aged children. When she’s not reading or writing with music blaring, she can be found shopping at thrift stores, reading to her children, and running.
A.D. had always pondered the idea of writing a book, but until recently it was a far off dream. In today’s age of independently published authors, A.D. decided to take a chance and try her hand at writing. She has learned so much during this journey and is having a world of fun with it.
