*Top Ten Tuesday* Books on my TBR the Longest

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Joood - Hooligan of Platypire reviews bossed me into doing this, so I guess this is a thing I do now.

This week’s theme is how my reading habits have changed over time, but I don't really feel like my reading habits have really changed when I'm actively reading and not being paid to do it, so I'm going rogue this week. Since I recently spoke with another blogger friend about my Netgalley hole and how far back it goes, I figured it would be fun to feature the ten oldest books on my Netgalley list. So here we go.

Lydia's Enchanted Toffee by Neale Osborne
Release Date: August 18 2015

Seaside by Wylde Scott
Release Date: October 1, 2015

The Devil's Engine: Hellraisers by Alexander Gordon Smith
Release Date: December 1, 2015

Release Date: January 12, 2016

Bloodlines by Lynn Lipinski
Release Date: October 15, 2015

Wynn in Doubt by Emily Hemmer
Release Date: October 6, 2015

Release Date: October 10, 2015

Need by Joelle Charbonneau
Release Date: November 3, 2015

This is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp
Release Date: January 5, 2016

Black Earth by Timothy Snyder
Release Date: September 8, 2015

So those are the books that have been on my Netgalley list the longest. I am happy to say that even though I haven't read or reviewed them, I've purchased some of them on Amazon because they once again looked interesting when they were daily deals. I'm thinking I should start making it a point to read at least one of my oldest Netgalley books each month, just to start working through them, but I'm absolutely awful at committing to things.

Have you read any of these books?

If you're stopping by from the linkup, please be sure to drop a link to your post so I can stop by and see how your reading habits have changed (or what you've decided to do instead if you've also gone rogue this week). - Katie

  1. I have not read or heard of any of these books. Does it hurt your percentage and ability to get approved from publishers to not have read so many? Just curious how strict they really are with that type of thing. Here's my post: https://carlabruns.com/2024/10/22/ten-ways-my-reading-habits-have-changed-over-time/

    1. It absolutely hurts my percentage, my feedback is at 31% right now on Netgalley...and while that does mean I get turned down for some of the books I request, I really only request when I'm playing Netgalley Request Roulette for Top Ten Tuesday, and I still get approved for roughly 60% of the books I request (so 6 out of 10 pretty much every time). And every time I get approved for another book, I really question the publishers judgement. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  2. The oldest book on my NetGalley shelf is from 2021 so now you've made me feel much better! I used to use the NetGalleyNovember reading challenge to tackle my oldest ones but I don't think that's taking place any more. Might do my own personal one anyway...

    1. That's why I'm here, to make everyone else feel better about their reading addiction and TBR backlogs, because mine is almost certainly far worse. LOL. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

    1. Right! Their covers are definitely going to draw me in more if I manage to stick to my reading one OLD book a month plan/goal. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

    1. Thanks. I fully intend to read them every time I think about them, but I suck at commitment. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  5. Ha! I always feel compelled to read my NetGalley books and do the reviews before they get published. I have not read any of these. But you do have some intriguing ones too.

    1. I always intend to read and review Netgalley books before they get published...but the road to h3ll is paved with good intentions...Also, at this point things are so out of control I almost feel like what's the point. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  6. I haven't read any of those books. It's nice to see someone else has older books on their NetGalley shelf. I was just thinking that I needed to start reading one a month, too, and try to make a dent in them.

  7. I don't think I've heard of any of these, but based on some of the titles and cover art, some of these seem like ideal spooky books (like Frankenstein!) to read this time of year! :) Thanks for visiting my list today.

    1. That is a really solid point. The only problem is that I have two 500+ page books to read for book club meetings in a week. At this point in the month, I kind of have to give them my attention. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

    1. It's comments like yours that remind me there is still merit to reading and reviewing older books that aren't just getting ready to release, because there are still going to be people who have never heard of some of them. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie
