Synopsis
Life isn’t a fairytale. Sometimes you have to fight for happily ever after. And sometimes you just have to let go.
Josh Bennett
It was a simple offer.
I invited Isla to rent a room in my five thousand square foot home. Plenty of rooms and plenty of space. But the second she moved in, I knew I was in trouble. I could handle wanting her when there was distance between us, but once we started to play house, all my pent up desire started knocking down walls.
That was my first mistake of many.
The private investigator I hired to track down my ex found her not far from where I live. I should have locked my past behind me, but something urged me to find her. I’m glad I did. But our union left me with a situation to be reckoned with.
When a new fire is lit and old flames rekindle, one will have to burn out.
The decisions I’ll have to make won’t be easy.
No matter what I choose, my heart will break.

Review
I was hired to proofread this book. The only aspects of the story that I influenced were the spelling and grammar. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.
I was excited to get a chance to dive into Josh and Isla's relationship. I think I was actually more interested in their connection in Sexiest Couple Alive than I was in Nate and Olivia's. They just seemed to have such a fun time together as friends that I wanted to see more of them, and secretly hoped that they would hook up.
One of the things I liked most about Sexiest Dad Alive is that it had some added baby mama drama, which made it an atypical love story. Sure, love triangles are pretty standard fare in romance, but not like this. It's not even that I was happy about the drama, 'cause it was some straight up bullshit, I just like stories that differ from the norm.
Another nice thing about this story was getting to revisit some characters from the past without being shoved too deeply into their ridiculously happy lives. It was like seeing a quick photo update from a friend on Facebook rather than spending a weekend at their perfectly maintained home with their angelic children that always do what they're told and never talk back while your children won't stop whining and fighting with each other for even five seconds. At least with the photo you know you're not really seeing the whole picture, and that helps. (It's possible I have some latent feelings of inadequacy as a parent.)
Emma was a delightful addition to the cast and I really enjoyed the way her and Josh's relationship developed in spite of her mother's machinations.
Overall I give Sexiest Dad Alive 4.5 out of 5 stars. - Katie

I tend to avoid the baby mama drama - but you made this one sound appealing.
