Synopsis
Erotica romance author and owner of one of the largest publishing companies, Damon Lear, has secrets that keep him out of relationships and into behavior that is taboo to many. He is willing to set his strict rules aside for one memorable night with romance writer, Alayna Wynn, who he meets at his friend’s wedding. He fails at propositioning her, but they share one heated kiss, and he assures her they will meet again.
Damon gets his opportunity to seduce her when he rescues Alayna, keeping her from being stranded in an airport during a snowstorm. Unable to leave his penthouse for days, she discovers it is impossible to resist the handsome, mysterious man who wants nothing more than to give her pleasure and make her submissive. Alayna’s heart encounters feelings she wasn’t expecting, and when her needs are not met, they both attempt to move on.
Damon sees that living the way he did before she walked in and out of his life is now impossible as thoughts of her consume him. He lures her back, and Alayna falls deeper into his world of BDSM. Their relationship is soon threatened when details from Damon’s past are leaked to the media. He’s forced to take Alayna away and share with her his darkest secrets. During it all, Damon battles to hold on to control by pushing Alayna sexually, introducing her to new, enthralling experiences.
He soon realizes he’s losing the hold on his heart when he witnesses Alayna fighting for the both of them. Will she submit to him completely? Do they stand a chance when obstacles from their past collide with their newfound relationship? Or will this news cost Damon his reputation, business and most importantly Alayna?

When erotic romance author Damon Lear meets Alayna Wynn at his best friend’s wedding he is immediately taken with her. She is just as affected by him. After sharing a very passionate kiss at the wedding, Damon vows they will have more time together. Months later when a snow storms strands Alayna in New York, Damon comes to her rescue. Alayna will be forced to spend several days locked in Damon’s penthouse as the snowstorm passes. Sparks fly and the chemistry between these two is off the charts.
As the relationship between these two progresses, threats come to the couple in the form of the paparazzi, family, and past relationships. Damon is known for his control and is losing it as he loses his heart also. Do these two stand a chance with so much outside interference? Will Damon’s past be more then Alayna can handle? Will Damon’s reputation be able to survive some devastating revelations?
I really adored this book. I loved the main characters in the story and enjoyed watching them grow and change together. The sub characters were fantastic also. This book is full of hot and steamy erotic scenes with elements of BDSM throughout. I appreciate books with strong and controlling alpha males who are trying to win the heart of a woman who catches their eye and takes them by surprise. I thought the story was well written and loved the journey I was taken on throughout the relationship. There was a bit of mystery and unknown and that helped the book move at a great pace, while maintaining my interest throughout. If you are looking for a love story, with hot steamy scenes, and some mystery and angst then look no further. This book has all that and more.
I give this book 4 ½ stars.
Alayna's POV while with Damon. They're discussing the possibility of her participating in BDSM with him:
Panic that he might push me away hits me hard. I’m craving more and feel a strong need to please him.
“I can handle it.” I clench my eyes shut. “OK, I can’t say since I don’t know exactly what you plan to do to me, but I—I want to try.”
“Then what are your hard limits?”
“Aren’t those the things I absolutely won’t do?”
“Correct.”
“I don’t know.”
“You have to decide and be able to tell me for us to continue. That means you have to have some ideas of your soft limits, the things you’ll consider. It’s likely I’ll instigate them, so you have to imagine me pushing you to the brink with those, and then decide if you’d actually do them.”
“What are some things you’d call soft limits?”
I’m becoming frustrated. I thought he’d tell me what we’re doing next or try to take what he wants. I let out a loud sigh. “OK, then tell me a few things you’d like to do to me.”
I watch Damon slowly set the plate of food on the floor, and the next thing I know, I’m flat on my back on the sofa. He’s on top of me, holding himself up with his forearms, and his fingers are deep in my hair as he bores a hole through me. I suck in his warm breath and hold it.
“I want to blindfold you, tie you up and fuck you in every position possible. I want to pull your hair, spank you and bite you. I want to hurt you, Alayna. I do. But only to the point you get pleasure from it. I want you to want it.
“I want to tease every inch of your body by barely touching you like a whisper until it drives you insane. You’ll beg me to let you come, but I’ll make you wait until I feel like it.”
The heat rolls through my body like a dust storm as the blood pumps through my veins at lightning speed.
“Breathe, Alayna, breathe.”
Scared, curious and wet between my thighs, I let out an overwhelming breath. Damon’s lips brush across mine before they find my cheek and then my ear.
“Precious, you don’t even realize how desirable you are. I want to pleasure you for hours, no part of your body left deprived. Think about it and research it. Then let me know.” Damon climbs off of me and grabs his clothes before he starts to walk out of the room.
