Twelve Days: Rediscovering the Heart of Christmas

In the spirit of A Christmas Carol, D.P. Conway writes a compelling story that will inspire you this and every Christmas to come.

Barbara DiSanto has built her life on success, control, and ambition. As the head of a thriving advertising agency, she’s used to winning—and making sure everyone around her knows it. But this Christmas, something is different. Haunted by dreams, an eerie sense of urgency, and an unexpected encounter, Barbara’s perfectly orchestrated world begins to unravel.

As the Twelve Days of Christmas unfold, she embarks on an unexpected journey that challenges everything she thought she knew about love, family, and the holiday spirit. Will Barbara rediscover the light of Christmas before it’s too late?

Perfect for fans of A Christmas Carol and It’s a Wonderful Life, this series is ideal for sharing with loved ones or curling up with on a snowy evening.

Rediscover the magic of Christmas. Rediscover the power of love.

I received the audiobook version of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This felt like a religious rewriting of A Christmas Carol to be in line with the 12 days of Christmas. I think this may have been the catalyst that cemented the knowledge that the 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas and run through the Epiphany on January 6th in my mind, so it gets points for that.

Barbara is not a very likable character, much like Ebenezer Scrooge, and she puts a lot of focus on her Christmas celebration sticking to a rigid schedule and being very commercialized. Clearly she needs to be reminded of what Christmas is really all about, right?

I did like the 12 days of memories and events approach to the tale, but the overall delivery was just kind of meh for me. The narration was okay.

Overall I give Twelve Days 3.0721 out of 5 stars. - Katie
