*Book Blogger Hop* 11 May 2018

We are on to a new week for the Book Blogger Hop hosted by the lovely folks over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. This weeks questions is:
Could you ever pick a favorite book or is it like choosing your favorite child? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)
Yes, but no. I've got a go to favorite book that I use whenever I see a generic favorite book question posted somewhere, but if I'm being entirely honest, it's a lie because my favorite book is ever changing (much like my favorite child just depending on their behavior each day). So while I have a pre-determined answer for those questions, I don't actually have a favorite book.

What about you? - Katie

  1. I have to agree. I did a top 5. LOL. It was the top 5 that came to my head too. There's just so many that it's so hard to pick one!!

    1. It's really kind of cruel and unusual punishment for people to expect us to pick just one, honestly. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  2. I have so many favorite books that I treat like my tiny children! I don't have children, so I love and protect my physical books like they're my own. Also, I don't buy physical copies very often, but when I do, I make sure to take care of them the best I can.

    1. I have a LOT of physical books, and I definitely like some of them more than others, but it's just hard to pick a single book that is really the absolute favorite, because they all have something to offer.

  3. I definitely couldn't pick just one. I just give people a list depending on what I think they might like (that is a favorite of mine).

    1. I'm always baffled when my friends ask for random book recommendations. The first thing I ask is what types of books they typically enjoy, because I can give all sorts of recommendations, but if they're in the wrong genres for the person asking, they do no good.

  5. Great answer and completely relatable! I don't think I'll ever be able to choose a favourite book because my preferences and feelings towards them are forever changing. Likewise, there are a few books that I do prefer over others and somewhat hold as my 'favourites', but I would never actually be able to deem one book my favourite of all time.

If I had kids, I'm sure I would also be able to relate to the comment about your favourite child always changing too! It's great that you're able to go to a default answer for the question, considering how often it's asking throughout the reading community, but picking one book is just too hard.

Feel free to check out my Book Blogger Hop answer if you wish! :)

    1. It really is hard to pick just one book as a favorite, even if it's narrowed down by genre. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  6. I have so many favorites that this would be an act of futility. I didn't get a chance to answer this on my blog this week. I'll jump in next Monday.

    1. That's why you just arbitrarily pick a book and say "This is the one. This is the designated answer to that question." At least, that's what I did. It's a lie in the whole scheme of things...but it's not a lie that hurts anyone at least.

  7. I too have just used a book I really like when pushed on the issue of picking just 1 favorite book.
