*Joood's Reviews* The Siren by Kiera Cass

You may or may not know this already, but Joood - Hooligan of Platypire Reviews is notoriously bad at writing reviews after she finishes reading books. I'm serious, her to be reviewed list is almost as long as my Platypire Read-A-Thon list, and that thing is monstrous. So after much cajoling on Joood's part, I have decided to help her out and once a week I'm going to write one of her reviews for her because I'm a good friend like that, and there is no way this could possibly go wrong. I will be writing the reviews as if I actually am Joood.

For this weeks selection I have chosen The Siren by Kiera Cass.

Synopsis

I stole this book from my good buddy Bekah, but I left some disgusting oatmeal raisin cookies in it's place (they're her favorite kind of cookies because her taste buds are horribly broken) so she shouldn't be too upset. Also, I might return it now that I've finished it, maybe. I haven't decided yet. 

The Siren is basically an adult version of The Little Mermaid, with WAY more death. Much like Ariel, Kahlen uses her voice against unsuspecting men, making them fall in love with her, but when she finds one she really likes, she's rendered speechless. I loved how the author basically gave me a whole new way to look at my absolute most favorite Disney movie ever. 

I saw a lot of myself in Kahlen too. Like just last week I almost drowned in my bathtub, but I was saved by the fact that my head wasn't actually under the water. It was a close call and I haven't bathed since, just to be on the safe side. And there are times when I refuse to talk to my husband because I'm sure he'll say something that will make me want to kill him. It's better to just stay silent so everyone stays alive.
