We are on to a new week for the Book Blogger Hop hosted by the lovely folks over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. This weeks questions is:
Have you ever wondered why a passionate book blogger might suddenly stop posting or delete their blog without notice? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
I definitely have not ever wondered that, because I have been the blogger who did that. Just check my posting history on the right hand side there, and you'll see a couple years where it was basically crickets around here. And although 2020 falls right in the middle of it, I cannot blame Covid for my absence entirely. In fact, my disappearance really seems to have coincided with my promotion to General Manager at the ice cream store I used to work at, and my return came after I left that job. So if I even notice a blogger has kind of disappeared, I just assume life happened for them, like it happened for me. Because this is a hobby, but that doesn't mean it's not work. And if you're finding yourself overwhelmed with life, blogging is a thing that can fall by the wayside while you cope with everything else without there being serious negative consequences for that. It was the choice I made, and I can easily understand anyone else making the same choice. So no, I've never wondered why a blogger might stop posting with no notice.
How about you? Have you ever noticed a blogger has disappeared without commenting on their own disappearance? Did you notice when I had disappeared?

I have noticed a blogger disappeared, and no one has still heard from her. Of course we think the worst.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your answer and for visiting my blog.
I don't really notice either. I closed my previous blog because I was busy with other things too. This one is just a hobby for me to but it does take up some of my time!
ReplyDeleteOh same! I get life happens. I have seen bloggers who decide to leave and write a goodbye post and I've seen bloggers leave with no goodbye. I do always wonder at the reasoning but if they choose not to share, it's not my business. Lol. Blogging can be time consuming and I totally get when people get burnout. I've always just enjoyed it so it's never felt like a burden to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my BBH!
New Follower :D
I went quiet when I was pregnant with my second son. I just felt rubbish and lost my love of reading and doing anything. I have picked it back up again, but am not posting as much as I used to. I used to try and do 3 posts a day! Now that I have built up a little community I do 1 a day mainly with the odd extra one coming in if I am on a Blog Tour or a book is being published.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I agree that the job that pays the bills is more important than blogging, i probably would have taken a step back too.
