Stacking The Shelves is a feature/weekly meme run by Reading Reality in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Now, I already have a monthly post I do featuring the books I get in the mail (and it's a lot because I have a serious Goodreads First Reads giveaway addiction), and I'm posting my monthly Read-A-Thon posts again too, which covers the books I receive through Netgalley. So my STS post will feature all the books I've been one-clicking on Amazon, winning through Goodreads First Reads Giveaways, and the few books that I buy physical copies of at the store.
On that note, here are the books I picked up the past two weeks. As per usual, I'm sorting the books based on how I obtained them because it has really simplified this process for me.
Purchased
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden - I grabbed this on sale for just $0.99. There's so much hype and hate for this book, I just couldn't pass it up for that price.
The Housemaid is Watching by Freida McFadden - This one was only $1.49 when I grabbed it.
The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden - I got this one for just $0.99. Being able to read the whole trilogy for a little over $3 isn't bad at all.
Homegoing by Yada Gyasi - I got this on sale for just $1.99.
Pines by Blake Crouch - I got this for just $1.99, although my friend who absolutely loved Dark Matter and Recursion says she didn't like this one nearly as much. Oh well.
Black Earth by Timothy Snyder - I got this audiobook during a 2 for 1 credit sale. It's been a part of my Netgalley hole for almost a decade, but I'm definitely going to get it read now.
Survive the Night by Riley Sager - This was my second audiobook from the sale. The very next day I got a present in the mail that included this book. So now I can read and listen.
Happy After All by Maisey Yates - I finally picked my December First Reads book at the end of the month, and this was it. I just wasn't super interested in any of the options, so I went with romance.
An Echo In Time by Boo Walker - In December picking a First Reads book got me the option to pick another book from a different selection. And historical fiction won that battle.
Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay - I got this on sale for a mere $1.99.
Amari and the Despicable Wonders by B.B. Alston - I got this on sale for just $2.99. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so now I just need to get book 2 so I can continue it.
The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown - I got this on sale for just $1.99, and it's a good thing I did, because one of my book clubs just picked it for a read later this year.
A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher - I grabbed this on sale for just $1.99.
Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin - I managed to get this one on sale for just $1.99.
The Cheating Husband by James Caine - I got this for just $0.99 and I literally bought it because the cover is so similar to The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose.
The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager - I got this on sale for just $2.99.
The Blackbird Oracle by Deborah Harkness - I grabbed this on sale for a mere $2.99.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - I got this for just $1.99 (may still be listed at that price) because it comes with audio/video content, which means I'll have to download it on my phone or an iPad to take advantage of that.
They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman - I got this for just $1.99.
Girls Who Burn by MK Pagano - I got this on sale for a mere $1.99.
The Unofficial Game of Thrones Cookbook by Alan Kistler - I grabbed this for a mere $3.99.
A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official GoT Companion Cookbook by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Sariann Lehrer - I got this for $4.99. Apparently I'm planning on throwing a Game of Thrones dinner at some point.
Warriors: The Sight by Erin Hunter - I got this on sale for $1.99, because my girl child really likes this series.
If the Tide Turns by Rachel Rueckert - I got this on sale for just $2.99.
