I received the audiobook version of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
I listened to all the audiobooks available in this series, and while they don't all have supernatural themes, I thought it was pretty obvious that's what was going on here, although some of that may be because I'd listened to The Ghost of Christmas to Come just before this one. I wasn't expecting the heavy religious themes though, and I'm not sure why I didn't expect them.
This story was really about character growth at its heart, and on that score it delivered in spades. Even though Jake is an alcoholic essentially estranged from his wife at the start of this tale, but the end, he's committed to changing his ways and making things right in their relationship.
The narration was a bit monotonous, but it worked for the story. There was some distinction for the character voices, but the narrative was fairly stable. Overall I give Home For Christmas 4.0378 out of 5 stars. - Katie
