You’ve heard the legend of Humpty Dumpty, but do you know the legend of Super Doople? He’s faster than a chicken. He flies higher than an ostrich. No fall can break his shell! And he was once Little Doople, a small and fragile egg like all the other dooples, until his bad habit of not listening caught up to him.
Engaging text with expressive illustrations, Super Doople is a lighthearted tale about resilience and learning to listen. This funny picture book for ages 3-8 is perfect for reading aloud in the classroom or at home.

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
Have you ever wondered what kind of creature Humpty Dumpty was. I know a lot of us have a picture of him as an egg like being (at least I do and I think that's thanks to the Little Golden Books). Well those egg-like beings are apparently called Dooples, because why not. Anyway, this is a book about a young Doople who wants to fly. He spends his days doing quite dangerous things for an egg like climbing trees. And one day he's flung from a tree branch into a wall, where like Humpty, he breaks. But Doople science has come a long way since Humpty's day and a scientist is able to put him back together. Except while he's relaxing in his shell-strengthening bath, another compound is added that makes him a super hero.
This was an okay story, but it's just the origin story. With the title, I was expecting to see the super hero action, but all we get here is what leads up to him becoming super. The illustrations were colorful, but felt almost muted in a way. I don't think I'd really want to read this book very many times before I'd be hiding it from my kids. Overall I give Super Doople 2.89 out of 5 stars. - Katie
