*Platypire Read-A-Thon* June and July Results

June is over and I've made progress! Real progress on getting my backlist of reviews whittled down at least a little. I mean, I still have about a month's worth of reviews to write, but some of those books are not due to be published for a few months yet, so I'm actually not doing too bad anymore. I am hoping to keep this momentum going in July and actually catch up completely on back due reviews, although I may not get a review posted every day next month. We shall see.*

*July is over now too (can you tell I wrote that intro before June was actually over?) I'm going to tell you right now, I did not keep up June's momentum in July because life happened and my entire routine went to shit. My routine got so off track that it's already August 8th and I'm only just now getting around to finishing up this post that I was partially finished with in June. So shall we see how I did overall?

So while I made great progress in June (got 28 reviews written and posted and missed the last two I was aiming for because of extenuating circumstances), July was pretty much a bust for me. The only reading I got done was for work (I didn't even finish listening to a single audiobook in July). On the bright side, that means that at this point I still have fewer books to review now than I did at the beginning of June, but I'm still way behind. And you'll just have to wait until I get my updated list posted to see how many new books I added to my list in the past 2.25 months. - Katie

  1. You're getting a lot of reading done! No wonder you have so many reviews to write! I'd have trouble reviewing a book if it had been a while since I read it.

    1. Yeah, I'm trying to be better about reviewing right after I finish reading a book, but I'm not always successful. Most of the books that need review, I got behind on when we moved back stateside at the beginning of the year and I'm just still struggling to catch up still.

Fortunately I have a pretty good memory for the written word, so I can usually jog my memory enough by reading the book blurb to remember why I rated a book how I did (and I ALWAYS rate on Goodreads right after I finish reading, so that helps). - Katie
