*Platypire Read-A-Thon* August

August is here and back to school time is upon us...well at least those of us who have children or are children (or are pursuing continuing education). Because this is the first year my kids will be in traditional school, I should theoretically have a little bit more time to devote to reading and blogging here in about a week. But my husband is also pressuring me to get a JOB (outside of proofreading) so that will likely not last for long. Don't get me wrong, I'm not entirely opposed to contributing to the household finances, but after nine and a half years of taking care of the family 24/7 (with very few evenings off), I was kind of looking forward to the break. At the same time, getting out of the house and talking to actual adults on a very regular basis wouldn't be horrible either.

But anyway, let's see what kind of damage I did to my TBR list in June and July (and the first week of August).

So I have added 15 new books to my list in the past two months (not counting the books that I received and proofread in July), which is actually not too horrible for me. It's not uncommon for me to add that many new books in a single month, so I'm going to count this as progress. Hopefully I can spend the rest of August knocking reviews and books out of the park  and make some real progress on whittling this list down considerably instead of letting it continue to grow even more out of control. Wish me luck.  - Katie
