Review

I received a copy of this book through the Goodreads First Reads giveaway program in the hopes that I would leave an honest review.

I wanted to like this book, but alas, it didn't happen. Like other graphic novels I've read in the past, it just didn't grip me. I sort of want to know what's going on, but not enough to go buy the previous or next book. I'm just not that invested.

The frames were easy to follow, so I had no issues with that, and I'm fairly certain I understand the basics of what happened in volume one, which is part of why I don't feel the need to rush out and buy it. But I still couldn't really get into the story even though it felt like The Exorcist on steroids at times.

I thought the illustrations were too dark in general and they did absolutely nothing to help draw me into the story.

Overall I give this 2 out of 5 stars because it really just wasn't my thing. - Katie

  1. Ahhh, I wanna suggest graphic novels to you cause it pains me that you don't like them. I have read this one but I have read Robert Kirkman before. I freaking love the walking dead.

Anyways, I'm not gonna lose hope. One day you'll find the right one.

    1. I liked Fables, even though I was reading the last one in the series. I didn't like it enough to want to spend a small fortune on all the other novels that came before it though. - Katie
