Synopsis
Laren Jenson’s life motto? Some women weren’t meant to be tamed…
With the option of small-town living, a white picket fence, and a Dom husband long since off the table, Laren has one goal in mind: To marry her career so she can pay off her sister’s debt. She’s one deal away from landing a corner office in The Big Apple that will help her reach that goal when Michael Kavanaugh storms into her life. Although she’s tempted, she’s been sidetracked by a man before, and vowed never again.
Michael Kavanaugh’s life motto? Some men were made to tame only one woman…
After years of earning the hard-won nickname “The Reputable Dom”, Michael is ready to throw it all away. He’ll become the opposite of everything that name suggests for a shot at owning the strong-willed business woman who clings to her secrets with an iron-fist. He’s determined to do whatever it takes to unearth her mysteries and make her change her mind about him, even if it means he has to ditch his stellar reputation in order to claim her…by very disreputable means.

Excerpt
She
pretended like she didn’t hear that. Maybe she was in luck. A woman limo
driver? “Excuse me? Hi. Can you put the glass down please?”
“For
fuck’s sake.”
One
minute her nose was practically smashed up against the dark partition like a
kid eyeballing the cakes in the bakery store window, and the next she was
sitting on Michael’s lap. His strong arms drawing her in. Capturing her.
Encircling her in a warm and steady embrace that oddly put her at ease. But
then he kissed her and there was nothing easy about it. He was aggressive.
Possessive. Hard. Angry and undeniably thorough as he stripped whatever fight
she may have mustered right out of her. Five seconds in, she softened. Ten
seconds in, she began to melt, fifteen seconds in and she stopped counting
because nothing mattered anymore, but the way he laid claim to her.
He wasn’t
hard and angry—she moaned and wrapped her arms around his neck—he was disappointed.
She could taste it on his lips. Feel it in his embrace, and although she didn’t
blame him, she couldn’t bear the thought of it.
When he
broke the kiss and leaned away from her she followed him, clinging to his
shoulders, pressing her face against his neck, squeezing in. “I’m sorry.” She
wasn’t exactly sure why she was apologizing. Again, technically she hadn’t done
anything wrong, but it seemed like the right thing to do. So when he remained
silent she leaned back to examine him. “Michael?”
“Take off
your shoes. I want you to lie down.”
His
expression was unreadable. Stoic and calm. “Why?”
“It’s
going to be a long drive and then a long night. I want you to rest up.”
Her
breath hitched while her heart beat at double time. “For what?”
“Everything
I have planned for you.”
It wasn’t
just his tone that had goose bumps racing over her flesh, it was his look. The
stunning darkness in his eyes. A well-spring of promises lurking there that
thrilled and yet terrified her at the same time. “Are you taking me to the
beach house?”
It was an
obvious question and certainly not the right one to be asking. She should have
been demanding he take her home or insisting they turn back to mixer, but for
some reason she didn’t want either of those things.
“No
matter where we’re headed, taking is going to be the theme. I’m taking the
weekend away with you that you promised me.” He sank a hand in her hair and
pulled back until she was forced to look over her nose to see him. “Now, take
off your shoes and lie down. Right here, with your head on my lap, your cheek
pressed against my thigh and your arms wrapped around my legs. I want you to
know your mouth is mere inches from cock for the next two hours.”
Those
words reached deep inside her and stole all the willingness she had to deny
him. She should though. This wasn’t good. This was bad. The good kind of bad
she responded to. Already her pulse raced and an ache rode between her legs
with a shiver-inducing thrill. The sensation building as she slowly took off
her shoes and readjusted until she was lying down exactly how he wanted her to.
The instant she settled against him, she felt his hand slip under her hair and
take hold of the back of her neck. Not with any force or exerted pressure,
merely a grip that laid claim in a profoundly intimate way until her breasts
ached as bad as her core. All the while her need spread as she silently prayed
he’d touch her in other places. But he didn’t. So she was left to dream up all
kinds of dark fantasies about where he was taking her and what he intended to
do when they got there. Then as the pad of his thumb brushed over the sensitive
skin behind her ear, she had to bite her lip so she wouldn’t moan. There was
nothing she could do about her breathing though. It was heavy and husky,
echoing through the profound silence in the car as she thought about those mere
inches and what was at the end of them.

**Kara's Review - Reputable Surrender**
The story follows Josephine. She has a very bad past and suffered a traumatizing incident that has left her unable to trust men and unwilling to try to have a relationship. Because of Josephine's past, she decides she wants to move forward with her life and stop being a victim. She decides she wants to relive her bad experience by creating a similar experience, but this time she is in control.
Tad is a hot Dom and is one of three owners of the club Josephine goes to when looking for a dom.
Tad is instantly drawn to Josephine and refuses to pair her up. He instantly sees through Josephine and knows she's suffered in the past and is broken.
Tad has some serious issues himself. He doesn't trust women at all and is a very nasty Dom because of this.
This book took you through a great journey with both characters. I loved seeing Josephine blossom, become more confident and start to trust again gradually.

4 stars from me!
I am not usually one to read these types of
books but every once and a while, one will catch my attention. This one took me
completely by surprise and I am so glad I was able to enjoy it! I can’t wait to
jump into the rest of Riley Murphy’s books!
After two horrible relationships, Laren decides to have one
last night of submission before she completely focuses on her career. I LOVE
Laren, as she is like no other submissive. She is smart, outgoing, funny, and
so passionate about everything. She is always standing up for herself and very
independent. But I also love that she breaks at the perfect timing and is
everything she is meant to be.
Michael, oh Michael. The Reputable Dom! Let me meet him one
night, just one night! He knows exactly what makes Laren tick, even if she doesn’t.
The Ferris Wheel is probably my favorite part of the whole book. He truly tries
to earns Laren’s trust! I often caught myself laughing at the banter between
the two. Riley has a perfect match with Laren and Michael!
What I love about this book is Riley didn’t use sex as a
filler. She had an amazing story that kept me wanting more. In books like these
I often find myself skipping so much of the book because page after page is the
same thing. Not once did I skim a page in this book. Every part had a reason
and a meaning. I am so excited to crack open the rest of Riley’s books, I don’t
plan on coming up for air!!
**Katie's Review - Reluctant Surrender**
5 Stars!
If you liked 50 Shades of Grey, you will love Reluctant Surrender. From my perspective, the only thing 50 Shades has over Reluctant Surrender is the hype. On every other count, Reluctant Surrender wins. It has better character development, a more believable plot line, and far more titillating sex scenes.
The stage for Reluctant Surrender is set before the story even begins. Colin Reneaux is stubborn, difficult, challenging, and curious. Ethan White is patient, understanding, insightful, and smoking hot. Together, they're a combustible mix.
I loved how we start out with Colin and Ethan as business associates, essentially. Colin has been hired to do a blog piece on collaring ceremony at Ethan and his partners new, soon to be opened BDSM resort. Due to the nature of the proceedings, Colin has to sign a confidentiality agreement, and everything goes downhill for her (or maybe it really starts looking up all things considered) there. This interlude perfectly sets the tone for the whole story. It's clear that Colin will not go quietly into the dungeon even though she kind of desperately wants to.
Ethan is controlling and not controlling all at the same time. He has ground rules that are not to be broken under any circumstances, but he's flexible about them with Colin, maybe because she's new to the BDSM scene or maybe because he's always flexible with a new sub, and that feels realistic to me. There is not a doubt in my mind that although she is naturally submissive, Colin would have bolted if Ethan had attempted to be as heavy handed with her as Christian Grey is with Anastasia in the beginning.
I had some trouble wrapping my mind around the idea that Colin is female, a lot of trouble actually. In my mind Colin is a guy, always. In this story it is made very clear early on that Colin is female, but while reading conversations between Ethan and Colin I continued to have trouble remembering that it was a man and woman talking, and not two men. I also had an issue with Ethan treating Colin like a child, which happens every time he even slightly goes into Dom mode, but that is largely because I myself have no desire to be treated like a child. I'm sure that floats some people's boats. Neither of these issues were significant enough to affect my rating however (not even combined), and I will definitely be reading more from Riley Murphy.

Josephine is a very likeable character. I felt a real connection towards her
and just wanted her happy.
A lot of BDSM books I have found extremely unrealistic but Required Surrender felt like it could of been based on a true story. Very honest writing.

There was some amazingly hot sex scenes throughout that were very well
written.
A very good BDSM read.
