We are on to a new week for the Book Blogger Hop hosted by the lovely folks over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. This weeks questions is:
So no, I can't say that nothing makes me happier than sitting down with a good book. But I also can't exactly pinpoint the thing that consistently makes me happier than anything else possibly could.
What about you? Can you say it? - Katie

Can you say this about yourself? Nothing makes me happier than sitting down with a good book. (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)No. While I absolutely love sitting down with a good book, I can't honestly say that absolutely NOTHING makes me happier than that. My homemade New York style chocolate raspberry cheesecake makes me pretty darn happy, and there are days when eating a slice of it makes everything right with the world (I'm an emotional eater). Seeing/hearing my kids playing nicely with each other or helping each other out makes me ridiculously happy (and allows me the opportunity to sit down with a good book, so it's kind of a bigger factor in that happiness than the book itself). And buying office supplies makes me weirdly happy (I'd been eying a set of gel pens at Costco for like a month and then one day my husband came home with them for me and it totally made my entire week).
So no, I can't say that nothing makes me happier than sitting down with a good book. But I also can't exactly pinpoint the thing that consistently makes me happier than anything else possibly could.

Yes! I'm the same way. It's one of my favorite things but I can't say it's my ONE favorite thing. And now I want raspberry cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better...I want chocolate raspberry cheesecake now too.

Oh!! Your answer totally wins! That sounds absolutely perfect!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize it was a competition, but I'm certainly not going to argue with you if you say I win. LOL.

This is certainly an interesting question with several possible answers, according to each individual bookworm's tastes and situation.
ReplyDeleteThe things that make you the happiest are certainly wonderful! (I will have to disagree on the office supplies, though. Buying art supplies would definitely do it for me.)
Since I neither cook (if I can possibly avoid it, lol) nor have kids, I can't say that either cooking or watching my kids play would make me happier than reading a good book. I guess I could have picked blogging, but then that would have to be tied with reading, as reading makes me feel VERY happy, and so does blogging!
Btw....I wish I lived near you so I could sample your cheesecake! I'll bet it's SCRUMPTIOUS!! :) :)
Thanks for sharing! Thanks as well for commenting on my BBH post, and following my blog! I'm now following yours, too!! Have a GREAT weekend!! <3 :)
I personally think my cheesecake is scrumptious...and I was specifically asked to make it for every unit potluck function we attended while we were living in Germany (I usually made two or three cheesecakes for every function and only once took any home with me because I told my husband I wanted some of the leftovers. He'd usually get up and suggest others take whatever was left home with them, and it didn't take much arm twisting to get them to do so.)
