Stacking The Shelves is a feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Now, I already have a monthly post I do featuring the books I get in the mail (and it's a lot because I have a serious Goodreads First Reads giveaway addiction), and I'm posting my monthly Read-A-Thon posts again too, which covers the books I receive through Netgalley. And since I am currently technically a displaced person (all my things are packed up on a boat and I don't have a home to call my own at the moment), I'm not currently buying any physical books. So my STS post will feature all the books I've been one-clicking on Amazon.
On that note, here are the books I picked up this week. All Goodreads ebook wins unless otherwise specified.
C*cky Author by Fettucine Holliday - I bought this for $2.99. While I'm normally loathe to spend that much on a short story, I just couldn't resist the lure of this one.
American Pharaoh by Joe Drape - I got this audiobook for free because I'm an Audible subscriber and Audible (the horse) placed 3rd in the Kentucky Derby. It's not the kind of book I would typically pick up, but the price was right, so I went ahead and added it to my collection.
Caught in the Web by Jason R. Davis - I got this audiobook free from the author in exchange for a review after seeing a post he'd made on Facebook mentioning that he had some codes. Spiders freak me the fuck out, so this book has a better chance of scaring me than most horror novels, and I look forward to seeing if that pans out.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas - I snagged this book on sale for just $2.99 (no longer on sale). I've heard so many great things about this series, so when I saw it on sale, I just had to buy it.
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas - I got this on sale for just $1.99 (no longer on sale), for the same reason as mentioned above.
How Do You Deal With a Dead Girl? by Andrew Demcak
The Difference Between Pain and Suffering by Catherine Carrigan
Tamisan by Susan McKenzie
A Phantom of Delight by Chris Cloake
Murder Club by Richard Powell
Murder in the Woods by Bruce Beckham
The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay by Nicola May
Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas - I snagged this on sale for just $1.99 (maybe still on sale). I've loved the cover of this book since I first saw it, so finding the book on sale was a great score for me.
Dear Jane by Marissa Clarke - I snagged this as a freebie (maybe still free). I'm not sure where I saw it shared, but I decided it was worth a shot.
Spy Girl: Books 1 & 2 by Jillian Dodd - I snagged this as a freebie (maybe still free). I saw it shared by the author in the Book Bonanza group, so I figured I should get it and at least try to have it read by July.
The Keatyn Chronicles: Books 1 & 2 by Jillian Dodd - I snagged this as a freebie (maybe still free). This is another book shared by the author in the Book Bonanza group that I just had to snag.
Io Deceneus: Journal of a Time Traveler by Florian Armas
Highland Rebirth by Alisa Adams
Love Letters Home: Love in a Time of War 1942-1945 by Chapman Deering - I snagged this as a freebie (no longer free). I'm not sure how I heard about it, but it may have been through an invite through Goodreads.
The Orphan's Tale by Pam Jenoff - I snagged this audiobook for just $4.95 as an Audible Daily Deal. It's set during WWII, so right up my alley.
Refugee of the Heart by Jane Iwan
The Cockiest Cowboy to Have Ever Cocked by Jamila Jasper - I snagged this for $2.99 (which may be the full price of the book, I'm not sure). I just know that the title had to be changed because of a ridiculous trademark situation, and I'm a big fan of passive-aggressive responses to issues, and they don't get much better than this.
Unlocked by Casey L. Bond - I preordered this for $2.99 (the price goes up on release day, May 17th) because I love fairy tale retellings and the cover is gorgeous!
The Retreat by Mark Edwards
Gypsy Blood by Jeff Gunhus
Meeting Grandmom by Jessica D. Adams - I snagged this as a freebie (maybe still free) after getting an email through Goodreads from the author letting me know it was free.
Tommy - Makes a Gift for Mommy by Peter Alex - I snagged this as a freebie (maybe still free) after getting an email from the author through Goodreads announcing the super low price.
Crushed: A Journey Through Depression by Linda Bjork
User Search Terms Needed by Danielle Gregori
Into the Shadow of Dark by Jeff Walker
Macbeth by A.J. Hartley - I snagged this audiobook for just $3.95 as an Audible Daily Deal.
So that's all the books I added to my virtual shelves this past week. It was a much more expensive week for me than last week was, although I still got some pretty good deals in there that were totally worth it.
What new books have you added to your shelves recently? - Katie
