Excerpt

We have all agreed that we will rest for a couple of hours before we go out for dinner. I have gone to a room on the top floor because I know Sydney wants to sleep and I just want to think. I can feel myself drifting off when I hear a knock on the door, “come in, you don’t have to knock.” I laugh, who the hell is knocking, these girls are never private. “It’s me,” I hear and instinctively I know it’s Cole. How the hell did he get in here? “What are you doing here?” I ask as I’ve rolled over in the bed to lay on my front to look at him. “I wanted to come and see you,” he says, sitting in the chair by the bed. “I have the master key for all the chalets remember.” He’s grinning like a Cheshire cat. “I get a couple of hours off and wanted to get to know you better, Spunky.” He winks at me.

About the Author

I am a mother to two young children, who in turn keep me young. I live in Dublin, Ireland but, I’m originally from South Devon in the UK. I work full time in a pharmacy and write in all my spare time: in my lunch hour, when watching TV at night and anywhere. I have always been interested in reading from a young age and then 2 years ago I was given a kindle as a present and it was the best thing that happened to me. I was able to read lots of books ever week and then I started to write reviews for all the books I read. I took this one step further and started my own facebook page – Sparkling Pink Bookshelf. I intended to upload all of my reviews for the books I read. This was purely for pleasure and then I answered a post on Facebook for someone to read for reviews and thought I had died and gone to heaven. I was reading about 7/8 books a week, the kindle made this achievable. I would read at any opportunity I could, even staying up til the small hours to finish a book. I loved it. Then one day I was asked to beta read a book – I loved this side of it, it was so exciting. I have worked with a number of indie authors and have remained loyal to a few select authors and I beta read all their After a year or more of doing this, I thought maybe I could write some of the stories that were in my head and I just decided to write and see what happened. I wrote about 70% of a story and then saw a post for the NaNoWriMo competition – to write 50,000 words in 30 days, I decided that this was a challenge I wanted to take and the Til Death Us Do Part series was born.
I am always thinking of situations that can be turned into a story and have started a few stories, which in turn will be completed and released to my readers. I love to hear what my readers have to say about my work and please find my links below. Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy this series of books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Interview

What inspired you to become an author?
I have been working with self published authors for a couple of years and I always knew that I had a story to tell. I decided to do the NaNoWriMo 2 years ago and have never looked back.

I assume all authors also love to read, so what book inspired your love of reading?
I love contemporary romance, of course. However, I love vampire and paranormal books, they are my guilty pleasure.

How old were you when you wrote your first story?
Never ask a lady her age lol, it was 2 years ago and I was over 40 that's all I will say on the matter ha ha

Who are some of your favorite authors now?
I love Colleen Hoover, Sandi Lynn and to satisfy my paranormal fetish I love Shelly Crane's books too. Of course there are all my amazing friends who are authors and are too many to name.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?
I'm a plotter and always have a very brief outline of a story when I start off, however, by the end of the the characters have taken me on a different ride altogether.

Are your characters based on people you know?
Sometimes, yes. I draw some comparisons with people who have experienced similar things to my stories. They wouldn't be who you think they are though as I like to mix it all up

What are some of your writing rituals?
I always sit on the couch in my pj's (unless when writing in my lunch break at work). I like to have a glass of wine when I am writing steamy scenes. I write the story from the start to the end and don't jump sections at all. Then I read through it and plump it up and add in emotions. Then I send it to my PA for her approval to see should I pursue the book or not. The starts the never ending task of reading, editing, beta reading, editing and final proofing then publishing.

How do other books influence your writing?
Sometimes when I read I see where my writing can be improved, either by more emotion, description etc.

How do you get motivated to sit down and write with all the real world interruptions?
I just make the time, I stay up late every night until about 2am to be able to get the writing done while the family are asleep. I have to be up again at 7am so don't have a lot of sleep. I write on my phone, iPad and laptop wherever I am. I was in the waiting room in the hospital the other day and I had a long wait so I got my laptop out, the receptionist asked me what I was writing so fast and I sold a book so it was well worth it. I'm just glad she didn't ask me to read it out - that would have been embarrassing.

Which one of your books is your favorite?
That's such a hard questions because they all mean something to me for different reasons. I love For Richer or For Poorer because the main character, Meg, is like me, sassy and sarcastic.

If you could have a writing retreat anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be and why?
I would love to have a retreat in a hot country with an amazing view, like the bahamas or somewhere.

If your main character were an alcoholic beverage, which beverage would they be and why?
Arianna is the main character in Sunshine at Christmas and she loves her cheeky cocktails, but saying that I think she would have to be a glass of prosecco. Bubbly, exquisite and stays with you for a long time.

If you could live in a fictional world, which world would you choose and why?
I would like to live in the land of the Sunshine Girls (My Sunshine Girls) because they have so much fun and there is always the chance of romance.

What’s the best way to hide a body?
Put it in a hot air balloon and let it float away.
