*Book Blogger Hop* Do I Post Every Day?

We are on to a new week for the Book Blogger Hop hosted by the lovely folks over at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. This weeks questions is:

Do you post every day on your blog and/or social media? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)

I sure don't, even though one of my blogging resolutions for the year was to review one children's book a day. It's the middle of March and I've already been failing at that (although it's averaging out when I make it average out around the end of each month). I'm even less consistent with posting on my blog's Facebook page because I basically suck as a human being (or maybe just as a blogger if we're being realistic and NOT melodramatic). I'm definitely working on getting more consistent, but sometimes it's hard because my office is in the basement, and most days I just don't feel like walking down the stairs (and then back up), but also I feel like I should spend some time with my husband and kids after work and before bedtime, and there's just only so many hours in the day. But maybe I'll figure out a system that works before the year is over and next year I'll be better (although I'm probably going to not try to read one kid's book a day for review next year as I should have my Netgalley percentage up to a much happier place by the end of this year).

What about you? Do you post on your blog or social media every day? If you're stopping by from the link-up, please be sure to drop a link to your post so I can be sure to check out your answer. - Katie

  1. I get it! I'm constantly thinking I should have a schedule and be more consistent with blogging, but then also I have other things I need to do too. :sigh: Visiting from the BBH (Kym @ Just A Second)

  2. Remember, this is a hobby. It's supposed to be fun. And your family is definitely a priority.

  3. Thanks for visiting and commenting... In answer to how I do it every day of those few months, I almost don't actually (sometimes I miss a few days) and when I do make it, it is literally a nail-biting last-moment-type finish on a daily basis...:)
I totally understand resolving to do one thing and completely missing it (my Netgalley % is proof of that ... in the low unmentionables:))

    1. Oh, I definitely don't wanna talk about Netgalley percentages. I've been clawing my way up with that this year. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  4. I'm sure that your husband and children appreciate you not hiding away in the basement. It's true that sometimes we just need more hours in a day.

    1. Husband yes...children are tweenagers now, so I'm not sure if they care anymore. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  5. Same here. I work full time and don't have time to post daily. On social media, Twitter is easy, but Instagram posts take a lot of time, so I often fall behind there. I'm not always caught up on Goodreads either.

    1. I never felt like Instagram posts took all that much time to create myself...but that's probably part of why I don't have very many followers, because my photos were far less creative and stuff. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  6. I post to my blog just about every day. Saturdays might be quiet though. It just depends. Social media wise I'm worse! I post to Instagram M-F for the most part, but I have gone a week or so when I ran out of pictures. Which I'm getting back to the point almost so I need to try to take some new ones this weekend! Hopefully there won't be visitors again and I can have Sunday to do all that!

    Thanks for visiting my BBH!

  7. I would like to be able to post everyday but it just doesn't happen. There just isn't enough time in the day. Have a great week!

    1. I agree...who do we petition to get more hours in a day? Is it god? I feel like it's probably god. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  8. I think it's common to set goals at the beginning of the year and not be able to follow through. As long as you are enjoying it, that's what matters. :-)

    1. What if I'm not enjoying it, and it feels like work, but I'm making myself keep doing it anyway because it's the only way I'm going to have any hope of rescuing my Netgalley percentage? Too much information? Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

  9. Reading thru all these comments, it's reassuring to see that many of us would like to post more often but we have other commitments (like a job and kids) that take up our time. I'm firmly in that boat also. But, my plan is to try to keep up with the 3 days of memes that I do and 2 reviews a week when I can. The memes I can often do ahead, so that makes those a little easier but it's a time challenge for sure. Maybe if I wrote shorter comments I would have time to visit more Sunday blogs, but.......I can't seem to shut up. ha. Thanks for the visit and I look forward to continuing to comment on your posts!
    Have a terrific week.

  10. 1 a day is pretty exhausting! Writing reviews that often can get repetitive, and hard to find something new in my experience. And living life instead of blogging makes sense! Hope you find a good balance for you! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
