Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Joood - Hooligan of Platypire reviews bossed me into doing this, so I guess this is a thing I do now.
This weeks theme is favorite book quotes. Would you believe me if I told you that I honestly don't have any. Like none at all. And it's not that I don't find quotes in books and think "Oh my gosh, yes." It's more that I don't mark them when I do (because even highlighting on my Kindle feels like writing in a book to me, and that's pretty much sacrilege) and then I don't fixate on particular quotes, focusing more on the overall plot than anything. Maybe one day I will become a proper quote marking book nerd. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite quotes from movies that are based on books.
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." - Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
"Toto too." - Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
"We all float down here." - Pennywise in It by Stephen King
"Obviously." - Professor Snape in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (This one is absolutely because of Alan Rickman's delivery of the line.)
"Whistle while you work." - The Seven Dwarves in Snow White by the Brother's Grimm.
Clearly I'm reaching at this point, so five is the new ten this week.

Fun list! I'm not particularly good at collecting quotes either. I do enjoy them when I come across them, but don't have a collection of them. However, my fellow reviewer has made a nice list of quotes this week. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me feel better, knowing I'm not the only quote deficient book nerd. :) - Katie
DeleteGreat quotes hahah I can't remember to write down quotes while reading either, I just get too into the story that things don't jump out at me like that :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's probably part of my problem too. I just want the story in the end. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie
DeleteGreat quotes!! I feel like reading any Snape quotes you just have to hear it in Rickman's voice! :D
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday!
I didn't when I first started reading Harry Potter...of course I hadn't heard Rickman as Snape at that point. Now there's no way to get around his inflections when I read HP. - Katie
DeleteOh I love this list-especially Harry Potter-I loved Mr. Rickman as Sirius!!

Thanks. I think Rickman as Severus was absolutely inspired. Thanks for stopping by. - Katie
