*Stacking the Shelves* 9 June 2018

(Titles link to Amazon via Amazon Affiliate links)

Stacking The Shelves is a feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Now, I already have a monthly post I do featuring the books I get in the mail (and it's a lot because I have a serious Goodreads First Reads giveaway addiction), and I'm posting my monthly Read-A-Thon posts again too, which covers the books I receive through Netgalley. And since I am currently technically a displaced person (all my things are packed up on a boat and I don't have a home to call my own at the moment), I'm not currently buying any physical books. So my STS post will feature all the books I've been one-clicking on Amazon.

On that note, here are the books I picked up this week. All Goodreads First Reads ebook wins unless otherwise specified.

Fatherland by Karen Schur-Narula
When They Came by Kody Boye - I snagged this as a freebie (still free) after noticing it advertised in a dystopian group I'm part of on Facebook.
Autoflick: A Study of Whales and Cigarettes that Became a Novel by John R. Bancroft
Worlds Apart by Anamika Mukherjee
When the Butterflies Come by Rosemary Ness Bitner
Gate 76 by Andrew Diamond
The Perfect Cake by America's Test Kitchen - I snagged this on sale for $3.99 (still $3.99) because I love to bake, although I don't really have many recipes for cakes from scratch (boxed cake is just so easy to make and still tastes good to me). I look forward to trying some of these recipes out though.
The Phantom of the Earth by Raeden Zen - I snagged this as a freebie (still free) when I noticed it was free while building a comprehensive list of all the books I need to read for my monthly State of the ARC post.
Lydia's Enchanted Toffee by Neale Osborne - I snagged this as a freebie (no longer free) while building the State of the ARC master list. I was apparently doing that on a good day.
Steamborn by Eric Asher - I snagged this as a freebie (still free) while building my State of the ARC list.
Retreating to Peace by Punam Farmah - I snagged this as a freebie (no longer free) after seeing it shared by a friend on Facebook. I don't remember which friend, but I think I have a couple that also write for the Peace Series, so it was probably one of them.
Threat of Danger by Dana Marton
Blazing Summer by Denise Grover Swank
The Peacewoods by Ignatius Variath
The Spirit Chaser by Kat Mayor - I snagged this as a freebie (still free) while building that State of the ARC list (it took me a few days to actually get it all done; it's quite long).
In Triplicate: Unlikely Tales by dermot o'hanlon
Old School Evil by Brian Cave
Bridge-Man Burning: The Sins of a Southern Man by Kaye Park Hinckley
Schisms by James Wolanyk
Martha's Sister Beloved Prodigal by Patricia Annalee Kirk
Dead of Winter by Melissa Pearl and Anna Cruise - I snagged this as a freebie (still free) after seeing it shared by one of the Platypire's who shall remain nameless.
Bound Through the Ashes by Danelle Nelson

So that's all the new books I got over the past seven days. It's actually kind of a short list for me for a change, although still larger than most people's lists I'm sure.

What new books have you gotten recently? - Katie

  1. I don't think I had any hot new releases this week but I do have some coming up later in June... not that I need more. :):)

    1. I'm not sure any true book nerd ever NEEDS more new books (because surely we all already have more books than we can possibly read in our lifetimes). But of course we still WANT them.

  2. I love America's Test Kitchen! I'll often buy their magazines. We just got the Best Mexican Recipes one.

I think Eric Asher is going to be at Book Bonanza!! You should read it before then.

And just so you know, Dead of Winter is a Lenore book!!

    1. Well maybe the Platypire's saw it because of you...but I saw it because of them...I even commented on the post on Facebook thanking them for the freebie (something I should really remember to do when I snag a freebie you guys have recommended too).

I don't know if I have time to read Steamborn before BB...I've got to try and work a whole lot between now and then so I'll have money for books and food. - Katie
