*Stacking the Shelves* 14 April 2018

(Titles link to Amazon via Amazon Affiliate links)

Stacking The Shelves is a feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Now, I already have a monthly post I do featuring the books I get in the mail (and it's a lot because I have a serious Goodreads First Reads giveaway addiction), and I'm posting my monthly Read-A-Thon posts again too, which covers the books I receive through Netgalley. And since I am currently technically a displaced person (all my things are packed up on a boat and I don't have a home to call my own at the moment), I'm not currently buying any physical books. So my STS post will feature all the books I've been one-clicking on Amazon.

On that note, here are the books I picked up this week. All Goodreads ebook wins unless otherwise specified.

Jake Falcon: Spirit Hunter by Victor M. Carrion
Seeing Forever by Robert J. McCarter
Family of the Fox by F.M. Isaacs
The Darkness in Dreams by Sue Wilder
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker - I snagged this book on sale for $1.99 (no longer on sale). I swear it's come up on my radar in the past on sale and I passed it up for some reason, but it intrigues me every time I see it, so this time I caved and one-clicked.
American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin - I snagged this book for free (no longer free) after seeing it shared by an author I follow on Facebook. Now to be fair, I own a signed physical copy of this book already, but now when I find the time to read it, my review on Amazon will be verified.
Noir by Jacqueline E. Garlick - I snagged this book for 99 cents (still 99 cents) after noticing how cheap it was last week when I was building my STS post and including Lumiere from the same series. It just made sense.
20 Garden Layouts to Die Digging For by Alecca Jackson
French Secrets about Diet, Fitness, and Wellness by Lesleigh Kivedo
How to Disarm a Narcissist: Keeping Yourself Safe from Egotists by Daryl Seldon and Barry Gray
Diana Christmas by F.R. Jameson
Adopting in America: How to Adopt Within One Year by Randall Hicks
A Nation of Mystics: Book One, Intentions by Pamela Johnson
Calm, Creative, Joyful!: Lessons in Transforming Your Life by Marcia Grace
American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America by Colin Woodard - I snagged this book on sale for $3.99 (no longer on sale) because the blurb just made it sound so fascinating, even though it's non-fiction.
The End of Diabetes by Joel Fuhrman - I snagged this on sale for $1.99 (no longer on sale) because I recently had blood drawn (something I haven't had done since the last time I was pregnant and that was seven years ago), and one of the things we're checking for is diabetes, and I personally have reason to believe that I may not like the results (I'm probably fine for now, but just in case). I am aware that my current diet is not the best, and since this was on sale when I saw it, it just made sense for me to buy it I thought.
If You Want You Can Fly by Rossana Condoleo
The Magic Flute by Keith D. Jones
Theodesius The Sage by Neil E. Clement
The Hero of Deceit by David R. Dowdy
What is the Woman Saying: Lessons Learnt from Biblical Women by Dane A. Miller
The First Conception: Rise of Eris by Nesly Clerge
Softhearted by Kim Law
No Big Thing by Wm. Stage
The Bramford Chronicles Book 1: Johnny and Baby Jumbo by Nick Swirblia
One Way by S.J. Morden
Collection of Poems by Vanessa Ngam
Troll Whispers by Ashley C. Harris
Slipper by Hester Velmans
The Speed of Clouds by Miriam Seidel
End Turn by Hew J Law France
Shadows of Hope by Georgiana Daniels
Word to Kindle Formatting Magic by Chris McMullen
Humanity's Second Chance by Phil Ament
Dama X by J.T. Bock
Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray - I snagged this on sale for just $1.99 (currently $2.99). The original cover for this book put it on my radar and piqued my interest, and I'm kind of sad that they changed it. I'm glad I remembered it though (and checked Goodreads to make sure I had the right book in mind), or I would have passed this book up while it was on sale.
Seriously...I'm Kidding by Ellen Degeneres - I snagged this beauty on sale for $1.99 (currently $2.99). I'll probably end up splurging for the audiobook before I actually read it though, now that I think about it.
Hideous Exuberance by Stephen C. Bird
The True Heart by Helena Halme
Sophie by Tal Tsfany
The Power of a Growth Mindset by Danyell Adamski
Money Paths - Six Real Ways to Make Money as a Life Coach by Christie Mims
Katie O'Malley and the Obelisk: Atlantis Bound! by P.L. Hogan

So that's all the ebooks I've added to my ever growing digital library this past week. Some good sales I just couldn't pass up, and then a whole bunch of ebook wins from Goodreads. I swear those are going to slow down one of these days...but I guess I might be wrong about that.

What new books have you added to your shelves lately? - Katie

  1. Damn, I've been intrigued by American Girl on Saturn...wish I'd noticed the sale!

And I feel like I remember Defy the Stars as well, I'll have to check it out on Goodreads to see if it's the one I'm thinking of as well!

    1. Defy the Stars has a really space-y like cover (the original), black background with like a purple ring that fades into the background sort of. I swear it was huge on STS lists like six months ago with that cover.

Thanks for stopping by. - Katie

    1. Thanks. We're getting really close...At least I should be able to get the public areas of the house all sorted by the end of this week, although I will still have several boxes in the basement that I need to unpack and sort through. - Katie

    1. Oh honey. You do not know about the Goodreads First Reads giveaways? They are kind of one of my favorite things ever! As you can see, I win a fair few ebooks that way (and I win some physical books as well, but not nearly as many of those now that everyone can sponsor ebook giveaways). It's absolutely free to enter the giveaways (and I enter almost all of them because I have a wide range of interests in books).

To find the giveaways on Goodreads, click on the "browse" in the menu bar and you should see "Giveaways" as one of the options (in the desktop version of Goodreads, as far as I know, giveaways are not available in the app). From there I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

And may the odds be ever in your favor. - Katie
