*Stacking the Shelves* 9 September 2017

(Titles link to Amazon via Amazon Affiliate links)

Stacking The Shelves is a feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

This weeks post is going to be a little bit different. See, I didn't make it to my thrift store this week because we were on vacation all week. However, I got a small box of books from one of my husband's coworkers a couple weeks ago that I kept forgetting to add to my Stacking the Shelves post, so I figured now would be a great time to get those books listed.

On that note, here we go.

The Rock Says by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Joe Layden - I'm assuming this was written before The Rock really started his acting career.
The Giant Among Us by Troy Denning - This is a fantasy, so it's right up my alley. I'm a bit disappointed with myself because there were several books in this series at my thrift store a couple weeks ago and I didn't buy them. Now I wish I had.
Night Shift by Stephen King - I'm a big Stephen King fan. I already owned this book, but this copy weighs less, so I will rotating some books off my shelves and taking them to the thrift store.
The Burning Soul by John Connolly - This is a thriller, so not really the type of book I tend to gravitate towards, but it's got an interesting cover (my cover is better than Amazon's) so I may end up reading it at some point anyway.
It's Good to Be King...Sometimes by Jerry "The King" Lawler and Doug Asheville - This is another wrestling book, and I have no idea who the heck this guy even is. I'm probably just going to be taking this book to the thrift store.
The Shining by Stephen King - This is another book I already owned (that's going to apply to all the Stephen King books on this list), but I think this copy is lighter than mine, so it will probably get switched out too.
Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Stephen King - Probably going to get switched out.
The Stand by Stephen King - Possibly getting switched out, I think my current copy is lighter, but this one is in pristine condition so...
Storm of the Century by Stephen King - I might not already own this screenplay, so I'm probably just straight up keeping it with no trade.
The Darkening Flood by Kenneth C. Flint - This is a fantasy novel. It's going to find a home on my shelves.
The Redemption of Althalus by David and Leigh Eddings - Pretty sure this is fantasy, and even though it's missing it's front cover, I'm gonna' keep it.
Curse of the Shadowmage by Mark Anthony - Fantasy that will find a forever home on my shelves.
If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor by Bruce Campbell - My copy of this book has a cartoon cover (way better than the cover currently on Amazon). Imma keep it because I enjoy reading memoirs.
Airframe by Michael Crichton - Because I like the movie, Jurassic Park, I tend to buy Michael Crichton books when I see them at the thrift store, but I've never read any of them. I'd never even heard of this book though, so at least I don't already own it.
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King - I already own this book twice, both hardback (at my parent's house) and in paperback (here in Germany). This is a hardback copy that will be finding it's way to the thrift store.
Bisquick to the Rescue by Betty Crocker - This is a cookbook featuring recipes to be made using Bisquick mix. This happens to be an ingredient I keep handy in my house already (I make my biscuits for biscuits and gravy with it), so this cookbook could be useful. It's staying.
The Dark Half by Stephen King - This book may or may not make it onto my shelves...I'm not sure what my current copy is like.
The Mist by Stephen King - I already own Skeleton Crew, in which this novella originally appeared. I may or may not keep this copy of it on it's own.
Bag of Bones by Stephen King - This book is probably going to get switched out for the copy I already own.
Christine by Stephen King - This book is definitely getting switched with the copy I already own. It's definitely lighter.
Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub - I'm not sure I own this book yet. If not, it's definitely finding a new home with me.
Dreamcatcher by Stephen King - This book is definitely getting switched for the copy I already own. It's lighter.
The Confession by John Grisham - I have mixed feelings about Grisham. I thoroughly enjoyed the one book of his that I've read so far, but I don't find myself particularly drawn to reading more. We shall see if this makes it to my shelves.
The Shadow Hunter by Michael Prescott - This is a thriller, so it will likely find it's way to the thrift store rather than a spot on my shelves.

So that's all the books I got in exchange for a New York style cheesecake (I make amazing cheesecakes that get rave reviews from all the people affiliated with my husband's unit).

What new books have you added to your shelves this week? - Katie
