No what she wants.

It isn't like she’d ever marry the guy.

Title: Before I break (1.5)
Genre: Romance
Published: September 5, 2014
Pages: 82

Synopsis

Out of the past six years of my life, I only remember about half of it. After a dozen doctors and thousands in medical bills, I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder--one that causes me to lose track of time. Sometimes it’s hours, days or even weeks with no recollection of anything. The good thing is it's been almost two years since I had my last ‘black out’. It sounds much better than what the doctors refer to them as, 'episodes', like my life is a freakin' comedy.

During those two years of normal, I finally managed to get my Bachelor’s degree, a job I love, and I’ve just proposed to a woman who has been there for me through it all. For the first time in a long time everything is on track.

Until a strange woman shows up at my door—she says I'm her husband and I think she’s crazy. Until, I get a voice mail on my phone. It’s from a guy name Cal. The weird part is, it’s the same name the strange woman called me. What terrifies me, is this guy Cal…his voice sounds just like mine.

Interview

What inspired you to become an author?
I’ve always loved to write since the fifth grade. They gave all the students a blank book and asked us to fill it up. Until then I had just been a reader, then I realized I could make my own stories.

I assume all authors also love to read, so what book inspired your love of reading?
It’s really funny but I’ve been reading since my mom purchased the Disney’s book a week club way back when I was in preschool. I’ve been reading ever since.

How old were you when you wrote your first story?
I think 11 or 12.

Who are some of your favorite authors now?
Right now Colleen Hoover and Gillian Flynn. I’ll read their books no matter how much I have to do.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?
A little bit of both. I try to let the story flow but I usually have an idea of how it will begin and end as well as main plot points I have to hit.

Are your characters based on people you know?
Only one male character was based on someone who should remain nameless.

What are some of your writing rituals?
I try to write when I feel inspired but when it becomes your job you have to get past that. I do notice I write best at night or early morning.

How do other books influence your writing?
They inspire me. I’ve always been a reader, and sometimes I’ll read a book and it’ll push me to make my own writing better.

How do you get motivated to sit down and write with all the real world interruptions?
I have a hard time doing that. I’m working on it now lol.

Which one of your books is your favorite?
If I Break.
It’d been with me for so long and my first one I ever finished. It’s like my first child.

If you could have a writing retreat anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be and why?
Somewhere in Colorado. Where it’s cold but cozy with little distractions.

If your main character were an alcoholic beverage, which beverage would they be and why?
Lauren would be a long Island Lemonade. Strong but sweet.

What’s the best way to hide a body?
Drop it in the middle of an ocean lol.

This or That

Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi
Paperback or e-reader? This one is hard but I’d say e-reader.
Facebook or Twitter? Facebook
